There have been 5 more cases of swine flu reported in the Paralimni / Ayia Napa areas. All are Cypriots but the ministry of health reports that all infected Cypriots have had contact with foreigners. The total number of H1N1 cases in Cyprus has now risen to 25 confirmed.

A checkpoint in Limnitis is planned to be opened by the European President Jose Manuel Barroso around he begining of July. The EU president is planning to meet leaders from both the South and North of Cyprus to have talks and dinner (Hosted by Premier Christofias).

Last week there were reports of a UFO over Tymbou airport Northern Cyprus. There have been a number of UFO sightings this year this being the latest. Reported by an Airline pilot flying from Istanbul sighting the UFO over the northern Cyprus Coastline, furthermore the UFO followed the Airline for some time.

A small bomb went off over night in the capital Nicosia in the Acropolis Area. CyprusPolice reported it was a small device which damaged a car outside an apartment block. No one was injured.

The latest news on swine flu in Cyprus is that Cyprus does not have any current cases , this despite the world health organisation raising the Swine Flu status to global pandemic . Health minister Christos Patsalides reported that each country would be taking actions based on the individual countries developments in the outbreak.

This week as reported in the Cyprus Mail the Government of Cyprus has said it will not be helping the long and much publised issue of Title Deeds in Cyprus on property and obtaining them for Property Buyers.It is near imposible to sell a property without title deeds and many buyers have waited years for issue due to such practices as mortgages being taken out by the developers on the land as a whole.

The recent European Parliament votes from Cyprus were very low in turn out. Of the registered 6458 voters, only 2725 had voted by 18:00hrs Cyprus time. On the Turkish side of Cyprus the registerd voters ( 747 ) only 117 had cast their votes.

In the Limassol district out near Zanatzia southern region a massive blaze has been brought under control although high winds have hampered efforts. British forces Helicoptors and Cyprus Firefighters and a firefighting plane were all called into action.

A petition has been signed by over 2000 people so far and will be presented to Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Those wishing to sign the petition should do so prior to the closing date of June 4th. The aim is to exert pressure from Downing Street upon the Cypriot Government with emphasis on the Title Deed problem in Cyprus in compliance with the European Charter of Human rights Article 17.
