The ministry of the interior in Cyprus has announced that the Government of Cyprus is to introduce amendments to local planning legislation to assist in the backlog clearing of around 130000 Title Deeds in Cyprus. Legislation also allows for a different type of title deed to be issued. However where the case is deemed to have committed major infringements the case will remain pending.

Plans are afoot to meet EU goals for energy conservation and part of this is the planned construction of a wind farm which will be the largest in Eastern Europe. The European investment bank will donate 65 Million Euros. A Danish company has been contracted to construct the farm of 41 turbines in the Paphos area.

This morning Air Raid Sirens went off to signal the Turkish invasion in 1974. 34 years ago. Remembrances will occur over the island today including one by the Archbishop with Premier Chistofias present. 160000 Greek Cypriots were made homeless.

When searching for Cyprus Resale Properties take a look at www.kaimarconsulting.com They have a large stock of village homes and houses for sale all over southern Cyprus both coastl and inland property. Stone builds and traditioanl Cyprus homes. Every one else seems to have new “concrete lump” type properties but Kaimar have a great selection most of which have Title deeds!

At Larnaca airport two more airlines are soon to be ariving and flying in and out of Larnaca Airport : Namely; Fly Baboo from Switzerland and Astra from Greece. Fly Baboo will fly once a week and Astra twice a week.

Marcos Baghdatis from Cyprus helped see of Ireland in the Davis Cup Tennis competition ( Group Two / second round ) and hence assisted to move Cyprus to move towards the next stage, with a play off against either Monaco or Finland.

Its now official in that the Government of Cyprus is to officially approve the latest Law governing smoking in public places and hence the banning of smoking in Pubs, Clubs and public places. The fine for breaking the Law will be up to 2000 Euros. There is some breathing space for the smokers as the new law is not due at this time to come into effect until January 2010.

The Government in Cyprus is considering banning smoking in all public places such as hotels, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. This has come about due to anti smoking bodies protesting last Wednesday. The bill was discussed at the house health comittee.
