Plans are afoot to meet EU goals for energy conservation and part of this is the planned construction of a wind farm which will be the largest in Eastern Europe. The European investment bank will donate 65 Million Euros. A Danish company has been contracted to construct the farm of 41 turbines in the Paphos area.

Cyprus tourism is down. Revenues fell over 12 % in the first quarter. The Cyprus Hotels Association has announced incentives designed to soften the impact. Most tourists come from Scandinavia and the UK and the economic issues have dictated a slowdown in numbers of Tourist arriving in Cyprus.
